The New Hands On Children’s Museum on East Bay, the largest Children’s Museum in Washington State, will serve nearly 275,000 visitors annually from the South Sound, the Northwest and the nation. Consistently voted the “Best Place To Take Kids” for the past 15 years, Hands On wins high praise from regional educators, the youth museum industry, contributors, and most importantly from children and their families. The Museum has won numerous honors and awards, and was voted “Best Fun Place To Take Kids” in Western Washington by KING 5 viewers and named 2009 Non-Profit of the Year by the Thurston Economic Development Council.
The Museum’s mission is to stimulate curiosity, creativity and learning for children, families and school groups. To that end, we provide exciting, hands-on exhibits in eight galleries as well as an Arts Studio and a half-acre Outdoor Discovery Center.
At Hands On we believe that all children deserve respect and the opportunity to learn, regardless of their ability to pay. We also know that quality early learning experiences are inextricably linked to a child’s future success in school and in life. That’s why we work hard to keep the Museum's exciting, interactive art and science education accessible to a broad and diverse audience.
